Prescriptions

Prescription Requests

To request a prescription, please put your request in writing via any of the methods below:

  • in person at the surgery
  • by post
  • by fax 01727 862657
  • via your pharmacy

Your doctor requests at least two working days notice for your prescription to be prepared and signed. If it is a new medication or needs changing, additional notice may be required.

Please indicate clearly where you would prefer your prescription to be collected, that is at the Lodge or Highfield Surgery or at a particular pharmacy.

Most pharmacies offer a collection service so that your medication is ready for you; some will deliver to your home. Ask your Pharmacist for further information.

If you would like your prescription to be posted to you, please include a stamped addressed envelope.

If you have been issued with a private prescription either because the medication is not available on the NHS or you have been given this following private healthcare, you will need to pay for your medication at the pharmacy.

Medication Review

Your doctor will need to review your regular medication with you at least once a year. The repeat prescription list shows when the date of your next medication review is due and you will be reminded nearer the time.
