Managing Menopause Symptoms
Key Information
- A balanced diet rich in calcium from sources like milk, yoghurt, or kale is beneficial for bone health. Regular weight-bearing exercise like walking or running also helps strengthen your bones.
- To help with hot flushes, you can wear layers of clothing, keep your bedroom cool, and have a cold drink available. Some women also find it helps to reduce triggers like spicy food, caffeine, and alcohol.
- For vaginal dryness, moisturisers or lubricants can be bought from a pharmacy without a prescription. You can speak to a pharmacist in private for advice.
- To help manage mood changes and stress, it is key to prioritise rest with a regular sleep routine. Relaxing activities like yoga, meditation, or mindful breathing can also help calm your mind.
