The Patient Participation Group

Key Information

  • We believe that for the practice to give the best care, decisions should be guided by patients’ experiences.
  • The Patient Participation Group (PPG): A formal partnership between patients and the practice.
  • The Purpose: The PPG helps improve communication and ensures the patient voice is heard at the heart of the practice.

The "Constructively Critical Friend"

You can think of the PPG as a constructively critical friend to the surgery.

  • The Perspective: We help GPs and practice staff understand the patient point of view.
  • The Guidance: We share what is working well and where things could be improved.
  • The Outcome: This helps the practice make better decisions for the whole community.

How It Works

As a group of volunteer patients, we meet with the practice team regularly.

  • We Meet: We gather to discuss the services we all use.
  • We Share: We provide feedback and ideas from a patient’s point of view.
  • We Improve: We work together to help shape the future of local healthcare.

If you have ever wanted to have a real say in how local healthcare works, the PPG is a brilliant way to start helping.
