Key Information

  • Who We Are: The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made up of patients who work with the practice to improve services for everyone.
  • The Goal: We act as a “constructively critical friend” to the surgery, helping shape the services we all use.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. “Do I have enough time?”

Yes. We know everyone is busy, so involvement can be flexible.

  • Meeting Frequency: The main group aims to meet around three times a year.
  • Optional Subgroup: There is also a subgroup that meets another three times a year, but this is optional.

2. “Will it affect my relationship with my doctor?”

No. Your PPG involvement is completely separate from your personal medical care.

  • Confidentiality: Your work with the PPG is separate from your medical records, and general feedback is anonymised.
  • Benefit: Many members gain a better understanding of the NHS and feel more confident in their care.

3. “Is it a forum for my own personal complaints?”

No. The PPG is not a forum for individual complaints.

  • The Focus: The group looks at wider patient interests and how to improve the experience for the whole community.

Why Join Us?

It is a flexible role that respects your time, is confidential, and focuses on making a real difference.

If you are interested in becoming a constructively critical friend, we would love to have you.
